Thecus N2200xxx & N4200 Pro @ Computex 2011

The N2200xxx is a two bay NAS for home use,  NAS N4200 NAS for home use and SMB’s. Both are running Atom D525 dual-core processors @ 1.8GHz with one GB or DDR3 RAM. Both can use 3T HDD’s as well as EXT 4 file systems. The drives have convenient access in the front or side and the N4200 has an LCD display for setting features and perimeters for the NAS. Most features are accessible through the proprietary UI, with special features for photo servers, iPhone and android connectivity. All are good for backup (includes RAID features). The 4200Pro has a built in UPS for added security of data.

Super Talent reveals world first USB3.0 flash drives

Director Joe James from Super Talent @ Computex 2010 shows Yi the world’s first USB 3.0 flash drives. The cheapest Express Drive can transmit data at about 130MB/s, The Super Crypt goes at 240MB/s. The Raid Flash Drive at the high-end reaches speeds of over 300MB/sec. In this example it reached a read speed of 313MB/sec and a write speed of 139MB/sec. Significantly faster (3x) than a HDD, as well as a fast SSD (20% faster).

Areca @ Computex 2009

Areca showed us a prototype based on the new Marvell 6GB/s SATA/SAS controller. They will launch a whole new series based on this controller in early 2010, which they expect to MORE than double(!) the performance of their existing series. They also mention that they are working on SSD improved firmware updates for their existing series!
