Chi Mei has many different Touch panels, from 12.1″using a photo sensor, to a 23.6″Out-Cell touch solution. The optical sensor can detect up to 10 points on the screen simultaneously. The Out-cell solution uses two points for multi-touch. The In-cell touch solution on the 10.1″screen caters for more touch points. The out-cell solution is ideal for monitors already on the market, whereas the In-cell technology will be integrated into the new monitors.

CMO 3D Display panels @ Display Taiwan 2009
CMO 3D Displays from quad layer to active glasses. 3D displays are becoming more and more prevalent. The CMO design places lens layers to create the 3D effect and implements a Quad 720p interface that makes up for the loss in quality usually associated with 3D displays. The refresh rate is 100hz. It is still in prtotype stage. There are also monitors with 3D viewing goggles. The comparison between cheap and expensive solutions is explained.

Medical Display 30″ 10MP from CMO @ OPTO 2009
High end medical monitors. 30″ 10MP high resolution, more than double the 1080p HD standard. It has a very high brightness backlight that enhances the quality of the intricate detail required for laser and other surgery techniques which use these kinds of monitors. The Chi-Mei Green monitors on display are at 100-120Hz, and range in size from 42″, 47″, and 55″ for SI companies that can use them to replace the standard 60Hz monitors currently being used. CCFL backlight is the current system in use, however there is a LED backlight in development due in Q4. The LED backlight will give very good power savings. The backlight display for advertising has 1700nits and exceeds regular displays quite considerably.
