Dual Thunderbolt port stress test demo on single Gigabyte motherboard – Computex 2012

gigabyte_thunder

2 Port Thunderbolt solution from Intel, embedded on the GA-Z77X-UP5 TH motherboard.
Hunter demonstrates a high-end rendering using a RAID setup and monitor on the one side. The rendering consists of 2x 2k videos, and 1x 1080p video all processing at the same time.
On the adjacent side using the second Thunderbolt port, another 2 RAID systems which are running a benchmark displayed on a separate monitor. While all running together there is no performance drop on either side. The 10GB/sec throughput is completely seamless.

Gigabyte Ultra Durable 5 – Computex 2012

gigabyte_ud5

The main benefit of ultra durable 5 is that the motherboards run a lot cooler, while allowing for high current flow. The demo showed the different loads under overclocked conditions which are particularly applicable to water cooling situations, where low airflow can cause a heat buildup in the MOSFET region, but on a motherboard running with Ultra Durable 5 parameters and the new power stages will run a lot cooler and thus enhance the lifespan of the product.
The GA-Z77X-UP7 motherboard is quite pricey because of these high-end features, but in the end you get what you pay for, and OC enthusiasts will crave these spec’s.

Gigabyte Intel Z68 and AMD 900 motherboards @ Computex 2011

The Intel Z68 format allows transcoding from your tablet or smart phone, to assist with CPU intensive tasks that can be shared. In addition, the board supports Lucid virtue technology allowing both discrete and integrated graphics to enhance one another, and to save power, you may turn off the discrete card as needed. In addition, Gigabyte have added in a micro-SSD slot for MSATA – which supports Intels smart response technology where a small capacity SSD drive can act essentially as a L4 cache, giving a system wide performance boost. The AMD 900 platform enables on-CPU enabled graphics for Direct X 11 support and ensures support for Crossfire or SLI as well as Bulldozer 8 core CPUs when they launch.
